This morning, my daughter and I sat on the patio outside my house and simply looked up to the sky. I know autumn has begun when I am greeted by the crisp air and the heightened sky. As we sat there, we began looking at the clouds as they flew by and imagining what each cloud was. “That one looks like a sheep,” said Katie, as I replied, “Well, that one looks like a dog.” We continued going back and forth, using our imaginations to picture each cloud as an animal, flower, or even a person. We became lost in our own imaginations, surrounded by nature’s beauty. It made me realize how much we take for granted. If only we could all spend just a few minutes of each day, sitting around, gazing at clouds, appreciating the world around us. Sometimes it’s good to just stop, take a minute to relax, and let our imagination run wild as we observe the beauty surrounding us.

Imagination is the highest kite one can fly. ~ Lauren Bacall
