Love

Last weekend I celebrated Halloween with my daughter. If you didn’t know it already, I absolutely love Halloween. After I came to the United States, and bought my first house, I remember every Halloween, I would sit on my porch, with my decorated house, waiting for the children to come asking for candy. I don’t just love the excited looks on every child’s face, but I love the spirit of the community. It is a day where we all come together to help bring joy to the children, by trusting each other with our children’s safety, while opening our doors to those we do not know. This feeling of trust and openness is what leads to that feeling of love. And for me, love is just that: a feeling. You don’t know what it is until you have it. So whether it’s loving a partner, a friend, or your child, or simply loving a holiday, once you get that “loving feeling,” it’s a beautiful thing.
